I really cannot believe they tried to keep her from me! They had to have known this would happen. Oh, I should probably give you all a proper introduction and a quick recap huh?
I am Payton Jasper Grimson. Alpha of the Nightshade Pack. I’m twenty-four and my missing piece just turned twenty-one. She is a human. Lady Rose. Everyone calls her by her middle name because the name her father gave her means “she-wolf” I happen to love that. Maybe because it suits her. Asena is a Queen. She deserves better than our world’s being just barely kept from war. She and I share a dream that we can all have peace, the same dream our fathers before us had managed to hold strong for the things that their fathers and grandfather fought for. Though Asena’s father was killed, my father fought to keep the peace but when Atlas, Asena’s stepfather and her father’s prodigy married Lady Willow taking the throne the treaties were forgotten.
That night we had finally sealed the deal. Completing the mating ritual her brother had followed us. And then went to snitch. I knew she’d be in trouble. I was worried sick, but I had peace of mind knowing at least we could communicate through mind link.
Her parents had grounded her and stuck her with guards round the clock. But she told me she had a plan.
“I can’t take this anymore Payton! They won’t even let me visit my father’s grave peacefully! It’s stupid! And pathetic! They don’t deserve to run the counsel! This isn’t what my father fought for! What our fathers fought for! And it isn’t what the counsel was made for!”
“Okay. Then what do you intend to do Love? I support you and I’m here, but I need to know what you’re planning because it sounds like you have a plan.” I responded trying to keep my cool. It wasn’t like she was planning to murder them, right?
“I do have a plan. I am going to be the best daughter they could ask for and once I have my freedom again, I’m coming to you. But I also have a few other friends I’ve made through the years and…well this is where I need to know if you’re actually with me?”
“Of course, I am.”
“We are going to take down the counsel. Rebuild it. To make it what it was supposed to be. Starting with the humans. My mom and stepfather.”
“I’m guessing that you have elaborate plans hidden somewhere in your room and when you get out, you’re bringing them to us?” Granted when I said this, I was being sarcastic partially… But knowing Asena, she’s something else.
“You know me so well.” she laughs. Such a malicious sound. The girl was definitely evil to an extent, but it was adorable.
