Hello and welcome back to another blog post! This is the official start of our “Clock” the walk through the Eras with Taylor Swift! I’m so excited for this series to start though I’m not sure how long it’ll take for my next part to come out I just know that this is the first one! Which I don’t know why but I decided to do them backwards? As in start with the most recent album (as of 2025) which is The Life of a Showgirl (and all it’s renditions/remixes) at least the ones available on Spotify.
Here’s how this post and the following in the series will be broken down. My first initial thoughts and feelings upon listening to it again (unless I can find my actual first thoughts or I haven’t listened to the collections). I’ll rank the songs in my personal opinion though! That’s important to remember, this scale is just my personal thoughts and feelings towards the song. I’ll give a small summary of the album and what it feels like to me. How it related to my life when it first came out (again if I can remember) versus how it relates to my life in the moment I’m listening. And I’ll give a list of what song is on repeat, favorite lyrics, and a song or songs I slept on, ect. You’ll see it in this post. But without further delay, The Life of a Showgirl.

To be honest with you all it took me a day or two to listen to the album, I usually listen to the album the night it releases but I had a lot going on the week of the release. But when I finally did listen to the album I had to sit with my emotions – so many emotions. How does she always hit us with such bangers? Seriously though, the album and I will insert a picture of the note below, “it’s like rep, midnights and lover had a baby – I love it”.

Now I do want to say I did listen to the Track By Track album. All I have to say for that is I love listening to Taylor explain her art. How she loves to mix the old with the new and keep traditions alive. While making a name for herself constantly. I love how she writes and pours her soul into everything she does. She isn’t just the artist but the art.
The Life of a Showgirl
Top 3 songs:
- Eldest Daughter
- Father Figure
- CANCELLED!!!
Song on repeat: The Life of a Showgirl – This song scratches an itch in my brain.
Favorite Lyrics: “I can make deals with the devil because my dicks bigger” – when I tell you my jaw unhinged when I heard this line? I love it, worship it, I want it tattooed on me! I – Slay. She said mother wasn’t enough she is Father and we all agreed. (Whoever first came up with that line, I thank you because you are so right!)
A song(s) I slept on: The Fate of Ophelia and Opalite – I’ll elaborate on Opalite in a minute. But for The Fate of Ophelia I think it was more so it just needed time to grow on me because it wasn’t and isn’t my first choice in style of instrumental. Not that I don’t like it, it just didn’t hit me that hard at first if that makes sense? But I definitely loved the song from the start. Especially the lyrics.
Most relatable: A strong tie between Wi$h Li$t and Eldest Daughter – They both tie to separate parts of my world, she did it again. Reading our worlds… but writing hers.
Finally a song that made me cry: CANCELLED!!! – I will not elaborate.
Final ranking?
- Eldest Daughter
- CANCELLED!!!
- Father Figure
- Actually Romantic
- Wi$h Li$t
- The Life of a Showgirl
- The Fate of Ophelia
- Wood
- Ruin The Friendship
- Elizabeth Taylor
- Opalite
- Honey
Okay final thoughts on The Life of a Showgirl, the original rendition. This whole album released on October 3rd, 2025, 12 songs, forty-one minutes, forty-five seconds of absolute heaven, restored my faith in humanity for the whole time I listened to it. It had and has me in a choke hold still. The talent, the skill. It’s no secret that in this corner of the internet I love Taylor Swift unapologetically and she is one of my greatest reasons to stay on this planet, she always has been. But this album gave laughs and cries and brutal honesty. I cannot express how much we love it. We being me and all my personalities. The giggles the charm. It’s a masterpiece and what an Era it is. The Showgirl!
Let’s get into the remixes before we do the acoustic collection!
The Fate of Ophelia Loud Luxury Remix: I love this for a Club. Even though I’ve only really been to Emo Nite. But it gives dance Club night. For a daily listen I’m personally rating this as a 4/10 just because it’s not my cup of tea. But that’s okay. I still like it, if it came on in the car I wouldn’t skip it, it’s just not going on my playlist. Sorry Taylor. (November 6, 2025 : 2:36)
The Fate of Ophelia Chainsmokers Remix: This remix feels very New Years Eve in Time Square. I don’t really know if that makes sense to anyone else but that’s where my brain goes hearing it? I don’t hate it but it’s again not my favorite like I wouldn’t put it on my playlist but I wouldn’t skip it either? Because like it works? It’s just not my taste. Another 4/10. (November 28, 2025 : 2:55)
The Acoustic Collection! I’m so excited for this section. I waited until the day I wrote this to listen to the acoustic version for the first time partially because I forgot (I’ve had other artists release new albums this year too) I know criminal I haven’t been fully Taylor centered. Which I’m writing this on December 28, 2025, and I’ll likely be posting this sometime in the beginning of 2026, but I’ve had a lot going on towards the end of the year but anyway this listen through? Oh my lord. I usually stay partial to the first version of the song that I listen to. But part of me wants to go delete the originals and put the acoustic collection in my playlist that’s how much I love it.
First let me give you the summary. I love this collection, the titles and how each name is slightly different, as follows.
The Fate of Ophelia – Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version
Elizabeth Taylor – So Glamorous Cabaret Version
Opalite – Life Is A Song Acoustic Version
Eldest Daughter – Now You’re Home Acoustic Version
Ruin The Friendship – My Advice Version
Wi$h Li$t – Settled Down Acoustic Version
The Life of a Showgirl – (feat. Sabrina Carpenter) – Dressing Room Rehearsal Version
This is the order they’re in at the end of the album The Life of a Showgirl + Acoustic Collection. Which was released on November 7, 2025 with 19 songs at one hour and eight minutes long. Now for my thoughts on the acoustic collection as a whole.
All these songs hit so much harder, when you strip it down to its bones. To hear the magic in it. My god. The magic and static of just listening to Taylors voice and her lyrics. Letting them sink in and the music is more complimentary not taking over her voice…
As for Opalite? This song… I don’t say this often but sometimes the acoustic is so much better. I slept on this song so much until I heard the acoustic version and I was in love. It just the way it brought the lyrics to the forefront and really fixated on the message in the song and how magical it was. I know I keep saying magical but that’s the only word I really have is it’s magical like being taken from my body and placed in another world. One where I was understood.
I was going to rank the acoustic collection, but I can’t it feels wrong to because they all rank the same in different ways, leagues. I love this collection in a different understanding. It really did open a door to another world. This album was a masterpiece amongst many others. I’m so proud of her and her work and of course Travis gets an honorable mention here for being a Stellar boyfriend/fiancé and eventual husband. I can’t wait to see where her work leads, and I can’t express enough how lucky I feel to live in a generation that grew up with her! She is one of the greatest.
If you made it this far drop your favorite Taylor Swift song or album in the comments and let me know your thoughts on The Life of a Showgirl. Be sure to keep it respectful ❤
Thank you so much for reading and I hope to see you with the next post. As always stay safe, love hard and protect your peace ❤
