Lessons not regrets the story that never ends. (2026 Edit)

Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow.

I walked away from many people. I loved two of them. I was a mixture of infatuated and in love- in a deep story book I will marry you, love. But also the love that I would have destroyed myself for them. Toxic. Poisonous. Lethal.

Then there were two loves that were teenage love or “puppy love” both hurt like hell one nearly destroyed a real love but at the same time it didn’t. Each had their own set of lessons. Each broke me and put me back together in different ways. Each still holds a special place with me for what they taught me.

The one that hurt the most? It was the one I saw all the signs and still fell into and I felt myself slipping. And I stayed longer than I should have… Hurting both of us more in the end but it hasn’t even fully ended yet has it? For now it has. But I pray it’s not over for good I want it to be better but I might never be. So back to the topic…what decision did I make in the past that helped me grow and change today?

I’ve always always fallen back to myself. I catch myself as I’m wrecking myself because of how many times I did that with her. And him. Before now. I learned my patterns. It took years. Years of unlearning that I’m still doing. But the decision four years ago to get clean? To cut it all out of my life anyone that could drag me down more… That brought me here. To where I stand today. Hoping. Praying. For a reboot.

Present Day – 2026

Okay where to start with this one? Um, spelling and grammar are surprisingly okay, but punctuation? Who is she? I did edit the post a bit to make it more readable, I had too XD. But damn.

Also I call bullshit. I think we tell ourselves everything has to be a lesson and we can’t have regrets for I don’t even know why? Why can’t we have regrets? Why have we been taught all our lives that it’s so crucial to not have regrets? Like I mean I get the idea of it, but the pressure is unreal. Sure regrets suck and it’s hard to live with the more serious ones, but it’s apart of our story, like a chip in the tea cup or a scar on our skin.

I regret a lot of things, and I tried to turn them into lessons – news flash. It didn’t always work. I’m not hating on the version of me who wrote this post. I actually feel bad for her, I can see her grasping at straws in this particular post, and trying to hold her reality together after something out of her control.

With all that being said, I hope you enjoyed this dive into the archives as I know it was a shorter more tenitive one. I would love to hear your thoughts on regrets or turning our regrets into lessons, in the comments below? And I will see you all next week for our Anniversary Special, you definitely don’t want to miss it! As always, stay safe, love hard and protect your peace <3

xoxo Hails.
