Dinner went over surprisingly well despite the slight tension between my parents and Leo and Elloise. Everyone was talking and getting to know each other with all our friends there and it was just a relief that nothing went severely wrong.
“Oh, I’m so glad you guys could swing it.” I say hugging Leo and Elloise as we go into the house, with Connor following.
“Of course, we’re glad we could make it too, you better have help getting all this cleaned up though.” Leo laughs. “Connor good to see you too.”
“Good to see you as well Mr. Frawley.”
“This is so beautiful, Huntleigh. We’re so proud of you.” Elloise says as she looks around the kitchen.
“Thank you, it means a lot. I know it’s a little messy right now cause of the party and a little unfurnished. But we’ll get there.” I sigh as we go through the tour.
Honestly it did look like mine. Even as empty as it felt with a lifetime of things in it, it just, it had Huntleigh Ellsworth written all over it. I loved that. I wanted to keep doing that. My identity was one of the most important things to me. I’d lost it so long ago and found it through writing. And now here I am standing at the foot of something new, a new adventure. This was just the beginning.
Today’s chapter was a bit shorter but happy birthday to thechronicalesofhails! And seriously I’m so thankful for all of you, for sticking around through every ‘era’ while I tried to figure out who I was meant to be on the page. While I still try to find it. This site is so special to me in ways I still don’t have the words to express. So yeah… I hope you all stick around for another year and maybe we’ll make it to a decade, you never know XD.
