The Quirky Turkey.

We’ve officially reached a week of the September Blog Challenge!

What’s the guttiest thing you’ve ever done?

In the words of Tina Belcher “It takes guts to be yourself – I’ve got the guts! I’ve got the glory!”

If you haven’t watched it, what’s wrong with you? 😂 I’m sorry! I’m sorry I love the Belchers, they have been there for me through so much. But please go watch it after you read this post.

Anyway yeah being myself. It took guts to admit that I needed help to find me, and to figure out who I was. And when that person didn’t and doesn’t align with the idea of who my family sees me as it takes guts to stand strong and continue on the path that feels closer to becoming more myself. A perfect and slightly “dumb” (to some though I’m sure some of you will probably understand) example of this. And for the record it’s not actually dumb it’s perfectly valid it’s just a light hearted example I suppose, is my profile picture is a photo that simply reads and I’ll also insert it so you can see “Goest and fuckest thyself” something close to that again I’ll insert the photo. And my granny messaged me and politely asked what was up with the photo change saying she’d rather see my beautiful face 😂

She means no harm and I love her. I mean no harm by this post if she reads it. But a few weeks ago me probably – no a few weeks ago me, did post that photo then immediately changed it back because of what my family might think or feel. But the truth is, it’s not hurting anyone and it’s just a photo. It’s a part of my personality and it resonates with me for a host of reasons 😂 and honestly I don’t like having my face on my profile all the time. Sometimes I just don’t vibe with it – also it’s hard to have my blog and my personal accounts have the exact photo.

Anyway, back to the moral. It takes guts to wake up every day and choose yourself. To choose to become someone that maybe your parents might not like or maybe your family might disapprove of or maybe they just worry because they think it’s a quarter life crisis? It takes guts to become the person you’re meant to be and chance losing everything. Or chance rocking the boat and bringing things to the surface for a chance at a better future.

It takes guts to live for the hope of it all. But the glory is in the gutsiest things you ever do. And that’s the story.
