Hello and welcome or welcome back to another stormy night in the shire. How are you all doing?
Today’s post is a quick check in/review of the month as well as just some random little tid bits of updates. I haven’t done a life update post in a little while so I figured I would, plus it gives a little bit of context to what will be happening with Junes posts. So let’s start with a quick agenda for today’s post 🙂
1. Life updates.
2. Stormy Ville updates
3. Where we’re at with the reading list.
I think that about covers it? The three biggest things I wanted to cover in this post. So without dragging this out any further, let’s get to it.
Life updates:
Just a little context and background in June of 2024 I had a port placed then less than eight months later it had to be replaced because it flipped! Haha. I have a whole blog post about how I named the port Gwen. Anyway that’s important because I was also going through the process of trying to find a new therapist and doctors can be stressful on anyone – but especially when you have chronic invisible illnesses. There’s so much more to the story like how I had multiple awful experiences with a gynocolgist during that timeframe. All which led to me making the decision that during year 22 of my life I would be taking a break from doctors except for infusions and my rehmotolgist and my psychiatrist. Basically the three appointments I couldn’t get away with not having. Which meant we had referrals piling up, things that really needed to be taken care of, and back logs of to dos related to my health. Now I’m not saying this was the best but chronic illness doesn’t go away just because you want to live a normal life and learning to balance it doesn’t come naturally (at least it hasn’t for me). And I had been doing the doctors and putting my health above everything – living, breathing, eating, sleeping – it all revolved around chronic illness and doctors. I didn’t have a life. I didn’t know I could and I needed five minutes to know I could have a life, an identity that wasn’t just being sick. So, I spent my 22nd year trying to prove that to myself and for the most part I did an amazing job at it, but I also learned that my health is a key part of who I am, I can be chronically ill and still live a life. I can go and party on Saturday and show up for my health on the weekday.
So after a year of no doctors and just living. I am back on the chronic illness grind as I like to call it. Trying to find what causes certain things and trying to manage symptoms. Which honestly has been so chaotic, because while the break was a much needed relief, coming back to life as it was feels draining and terrifying. I’m struggling with burn out and it’s barely begun. Truthfully that’s why my Wednesday posts backed off and I missed a couple of social media posts. I’m trying to find a balance again with everything. And it’s a lot of chaos haha. A lot of emotional turmoil too. June is completely booked with appointments and I’m trying to at least make sure we stick with two posts a week. Though unfortunately if things get too much I might change it back to once a week temporarily. And now we’re getting into Stormy Ville updates!
Stormy Ville updates:
As you may have noticed if you follow me on any of my socials, I’ve been trying to bring attention to some of my older posts. I plan to highlight specific older posts for about a month at a time to give them proper attention. I would also love to add a highlighted page for these posts.
As I mentioned in the life updates section, June posts may possibly slow down to once a week. However that isn’t the plan as of this moment. I truly hope to keep them at twice a week. And then as we move into July I’ll bring my Wednesday posts back.
Finally, what you have to look forward to this Friday is the next installment of “The Clock” my walk through Taylor Swift’s Eras. I look forward to sharing it with you all and I do apologize for taking so long to get it out.
Conclusion:
For the final part of this post I wanted to update you all on where I was with my reading list. I’d attempted to read one of the books from the list, though I’d been watching so many horror and thriller movie break downs and quite a few of them had mentioned Hannibal and I happen to own Hannibal. I couldn’t get the desire to read it out of my head, I kept thinking about it any time I tried to focus on the book I’d choosen. So, I decided to begin Hannibal instead and I’m fifteen chapters in. It’s rather fascinating so far. I will keep you updated on my progress. Now again I will tell you, I am a slow reader, I started the book April 23rd. So it’s been a month and only fifteen chapters in. Hopefully my next update will be much better. Though I know I’m my own worst critic.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post, I know it was three different posts in one essentially but I wanted to update you all. Every view means the world to me and every one of you are why I try so hard to keep going on here. I hope you all have a lovely day or night whenever you’re reading this and if you haven’t already go check out The Dragon’s Legacy as it’s this months boosted post.
As always stay safe, love hard, and protect your peace<3
XOXO Hails
