Welcome or welcome back to another stormy night in the shire. I hope you all had a lovely and safe holiday weekend 🙂
As many of you may know I took June off for some “technical difficulties” and personal reasons. Today’s post as promised will be a little recap/overview of what filled my time in June. So without further delay let’s get into that.
So for starters lets briefly cover the health updates and what’s changing that has got me upside down. Besides the Florida heat lol. With my last update I mentioned that I’d taken a year off from doctors appointments that weren’t essential due to having had two ports placed back to back and trying to cope with the mental aspect of all of it. Then when I turned twenty three, I started making those appointments again. And one of those was to see a Cardiologist who specializes in Dysautonomia. Fun. I’ve not seen a specialist for that side of my health since I was diagnosed with it when I was younger because well, gracefully, I aged out. I was diagnosed at fourteen with POTS and then for four years I had a specialist then I didn’t, but during that time we also focused on other symptoms and other conditions that I have. Anyway, that’s a long story for another day.
The point is, we went to see this specialist and he tells us he appreciates what I’m doing and he likes the fluids and we’re on the right path, BUT he wants the fluids more often. As in twice a week. But we drive two hours to get the infusion, so we compromised, at once a week. Which is quite a lot. Again, another but, this could be world shattering and ground breaking to help with symptoms and such. SO, with that being said, I’m two weeks into the once a week thing and that’s a lot.
On top of that, my poor computer is um, how shall we say this, being held together by a thread. The poor darling still works quite well, though I can’t take it anywhere, i.e to the library, to the hospital with me on infusion days, basically it’s stagnant on my desk. Which you don’t realize how much you need that mobility until it’s lost. And boy was it lost. So that about covers our technical difficulties. Now I have a solution and I’m ultra grateful for it.
As for the other reasons, well to put it bluntly. I was just overwhelmed with my personal life and I couldn’t figure out how to write. Well, that’s not entirely true… When I’m overwhelmed, my go to form of escapism is to dive into the realm of my book. To work endlessly on the world where everything makes sense to me and to touch a memory that feels like breathing. And when I do that it’s hard to focus on anything else. It’s difficult to divide my attention. Though I am slowly finding a balance.
Anyway, that’s the update on all of those things. Now for the fun bit if you’ve made it this far? I did keep track of all the shows I binged throughout June. Though I’m not sure where my starting point was in the book, I had made it to chapter twenty six of Hannibal before the month ended. As well as beginning to paint my roof again, a slow process but a process nonetheless. I created a lovely workspace, and even planned the first two weeks of July, while giving myself a structured idea of what posts to post when. I was quite proud of that.
Now for the TV Shows, I’ll list them in order and note if it was limited or put the number of seasons next to it.
- Safe (Limited)
- The Boroughs (Limited)
- Orphan Black: Echoes (One season)
- Just one look (Limited)
- Hold tight (Limited)
- N0S4A2 (Two seasons)
- I will find you (Limited)
- Secrets we keep (Limited)
- Caught (Limited)
I count that as a productive June, let me know if you’ve seen any of these shows or not? Also I might do a deeper look on my “The Uncultured Swan” Section with two of these shows. The Boroughs and N0S4A2 because I really enjoyed both of those shows and I want to branch out and have more content that has my thoughts on things. But anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post and as always, give it a like, or subscribe, don’t forget to follow for more. I think I might try to set a goal to reach 50 subscribers before the end of the year. I know it’s a shy goal… but I’m nervous, I’ve not set a goal for Stormy Ville yet. At least not publicly, but August is our six year anniversary. So maybe it’s time.
Anyways, I know it was a bit long. But don’t forget to check out last weeks posts either. As always stay safe, love hard and protect your peace ❤
Xoxo Hailstorm
