Hello and welcome or welcome back to another stormy night in the shire. Today we’re revisiting an old letter from 2023’s September blog challenge. Though from today on it’ll live under “Sincerely, Hails” as I wanted another letter series that wasn’t as specific as my “Letters to Always” one more generalized so to speak.
With that being said, here’s today’s post.
Hello there,
Today’s letter is to a stranger… but I kind of do that all the time as it is and to be honest today’s been rough and I’m sure yours has probably had its ups and downs too? But in case it was mostly a deppresso or stresso day lets do a quick in the moment kind of thing, okay?
First take a nice deep breath 1…2…3… exhale. Now take a moment and touch the tips of your fingers to your thumb (count while you do it). Finally, your favorite comfort item (if you have one) just hold it close to your heart and or inhale it for however long. Oh and smile : )
These are some of the things I use for grounding myself or just to try and calm my nerves. It is not always a fix and it might not work but the thing is you woke up today that counts. You don’t have to be ‘them’ to be productive. You only have to be you. You are more than enough love. You’re amazing! Keep doing what you’re doing!
Drink something hydrating even if it’s just a sip or hell eat some ice. Take your meds if you require them and remember it’s okay to not be okay. It’s perfectly fine to be imperfect… we’re meant to be perfectly imperfect. And at the end of the day all that truly matters is that you tried your best even if your best didn’t feel like enough.
Also, you don’t always have to smile but it’s a psychology trick a friend taught me and it always makes my heart warm to think about it and share that memory!
